Want to avoid the sun and sit in the shade?

Now with a retractable roof over Arthur Ashe stadium, the days of worrying about rain outs are over. Also, thanks to the roof structure, more of the upper level is shaded. The best sections for the shade would be on the South & West Sides of the stadium which would be sections 305 to 326 in the Promenade Levels and 105 to 123 in the LOGE Levels.

Want to see a specific player? We often get asked how can we be sure to see Serena play? The simple answer is unless you buy your tickets after the “order of play” is published the night before the match, nobody knows who will be playing on a specific court on any given day. If you are keen on seeing a specific top ten seed player compete, we suggest you consider buying multiple sessions for any two or three days on center court. By doing this, you have a pretty good chance of seeing the player you want to see play, especially if they are a top ten seed.

Louis Armstrong

The roofed 14,000 spectator Louis Armstrong stadium opened for the 2018 U.S. Open – Say goodbye to rain delays! Except for sections 1-18 located just below the press booth which requires a reserved Louis Armstrong ticket, the upper level of the Louis Armstrong stadium are open to all ticket holders, including those with Grounds Passes. The best way to access these seats is via the upper walkway, which can be reached via the stairs under the west side of the stadium and via the stairs up from the food concession area between Louis Armstrong Stadium and the Grandstand.

  • Lower level sections go rows A-Z (except for Sections 5 and 14 which only go up to rows W,X,Y and V and in the corner sections).
  • Upper level sections go rows A-DD.

The Louis Armstrong stadium schedule will feature three day-session matches for the first nine days of the year’s final Grand Slam tournament, and a night session with two matches for the first six days. And the best part for those ticket holders, as with the ones who had Ashe seats for the last two years, is they are going to see tennis no matter the weather conditions.

Protection from the sun. Your best bet are seats on the west side of the stadium in sections 2-8.

Grandstand Court

With this court you have access with general admission area in the upper level. Shaded seats would be in the west sections 3-6 so the sun is at your back after around 3:00 pm. General admission seats get the most shade especially under the overhang at the top.
